Ficţiunea Cioran: un caz de integrare? – Mircea DIACONU, Universitatea din Suceava, România (European Integration Between Tradition and Modernity Congress,  Universitatea “Petru Maior”, Târgu Mureș, 2011)
Abtract: In his paper, Mircea A. Diaconu focuses on two major concepts related to Cioran’s personality and  works: integration and alienation. The author states that since the two concepts separately express too little of Cioran’s experience of assuming his own identity, the integration is no different than the confirmation of an alienation and vice-versa , as for Cioran the alienation is a way of being himself more acutely. These dialectical factors are studied as they develop in Cioran’s works, proving to be express the paradox which marks his entire existence. [PDF]

Aporii Identitare în opera lui Emil Cioran – Prof. univ. dr. Iulian BOLDEA, Universitatea „Petru Maior”, Târgu-Mureş (European Integration Between Tradition and Modernity Congress, Universitatea “Petru Maior”, Târgu Mureș, 2011)
Abstract: In our paper, suggest an interpretation of the main thematic and expressive resources of Cioran’s works, referring to his double identity relation: the Romanian origins and the insertion into universality. Integration and foreigness, identity and rupture, belonging to an original model and the continuous tendency of overcoming it are just a few of the main features in these texts that legitimate themselves by the assumption of an original identity as well as by a premeditated un-rooting, by the transgression of ethnic limits. Attraction and rejection of his own origins – this is the archetypal model that generates the semantic potentialities in Cioran’s text’s, where paradox, cynical irony and existential gravity interweave.
